The UAE has simplified the rules for staying in Abu Dhabi for Russians

Now Russian tourists who have received a coronavirus vaccine will have to take a second PCR test only on the sixth day of the trip.


From May 3, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will introduce relaxation of the rules for staying in Abu Dhabi, the capital of this country, for Russians and those arriving from a number of other countries. This was announced on Sunday by the press service of the government of Abu Dhabi on its Twitter page.

Now tourists from Russia who received a vaccine against coronavirus will have to take a second PCR test only on the sixth day of their trip to Abu Dhabi. For those who have not received the vaccine, they will have to take a PCR test on the sixth day of the trip (if the trip lasts more than six days) and on the 12th day (if more than 12 days). Previously, all Russians were required to take a PCR test on the fourth and eighth day of travel.

At the same time, Russians will still need a certificate of a negative PCR test result for coronavirus with a validity period of no more than 96 hours in order to fly to Abu -Dabi, as well as a retest upon arrival. It is done free of charge at the airport.

Since April 25, the UAE has canceled the mandatory 10-day quarantine for Russians after arriving in Abu Dhabi. Australia, the United Kingdom, Israel, China, Portugal, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Switzerland and Japan were also included in the list of countries whose citizens are exempt from quarantine.

Flights between the UAE and Russia, suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, was relaunched in September last year. To fly to Dubai, Russians need a certificate of a negative PCR test result for coronavirus with a validity period of no more than 72 hours. They must also retest upon arrival.

The total number of people infected with coronavirus in the UAE since the beginning of the pandemic has exceeded 523,000, of which 504,000 have recovered and 1,500 have died. During the day, 1.8 thousand new cases of infection were recorded, two deaths, 1.7 thousand people were cured. Due to the pandemic, restrictions continue to apply in the country, which differ from emirate to emirate. So, in Dubai, the capacity limit for shopping centers, hotels, beaches and pools has been reduced to 70%, and cinemas - up to 50%. Restaurants and cafes must close no later than 01:00. Bars and pubs are closed. In Abu Dhabi, the maximum permitted capacity of shopping malls has been reduced to 40%, while restaurants, cafes, beaches and parks have been reduced to 60%.

The wearing of medical masks remains mandatory in the UAE. For the lack of a mask, a fine of 3 thousand dirhams (more than 60 thousand rubles) is provided.
