The Pope will leave for Lebanon on June 12.


Pope Franciswill leave for Lebanon on an official visit in mid-June this year. This was reported by the Lebanese 24 TV channel on Tuesday.


According to its data, the arrival of the pontiff will take place on June 12, the visit will last two days. It is noted that Francis will travel to the Arab Republic as a sign of solidarity with the Lebanese people and to support the country's leadership in holding parliamentary and presidential elections.


At the end of January, the Secretary of the Holy See for Relations with States, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher visited the Arab country. The trip was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Vatican and Lebanon.


In March, Lebanese President Michel Aoundeparted for the Vatican for a three-day visit, during during which he handed over to the Pope an official an invitation to come to Lebanon. The head of the Catholic Church has repeatedly stated his desire to visit Lebanon.
