The second Russian-made vaccine, EpiVacCorona, developed by the Vector State Scientific Center for Virology and Biotechnology, has passed the registration procedure in Turkmenistan.


The second Russian-made vaccine, EpiVacCorona, developed by the Vector State Scientific Center for Virology and Biotechnology, has passed the registration procedure in Turkmenistan.

The certificate was issued by the Center for Registration of Medicines and State Control under the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan. The registration was preceded by an expert analysis of the Center's pharmacopoeial and pharmacopoeial committees.

The government of Turkmenistan reported that after the issuance of a registration certificate for the vaccine, the purchase and use of this drug for the prevention of a viral infection is allowed.

In Russia, "EpiVacKorona" was registered in October 2020 and has passed post-registration clinical trials. Turkmenistan became the first country after the manufacturing country of Russia, where this vaccine was officially registered.

Earlier, on January 18, 2021, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan carried out state registration of the Sputnik vaccine developed at the Gamaleya Research Center V". This is a vector vaccine based on a safe adenovirus, which is used as a container for delivering individual coronavirus proteins into the body.

The new vaccine was created on the basis of one of the promising synthetic platforms, is a peptide vaccine, consists of artificially synthesized short fragments of viral proteins - peptides through which the immune system learns and subsequently recognizes and neutralizes the virus. According to experts, the drug is characterized by a fairly high level of safety.

Representatives of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor arrived in Ashgabat.

Large-scale production of the EpiVacCorona vaccine, according to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, will start in February.
