The first virtual Evacuation Museum dedicated to the history of the city during the Great Patriotic War has opened in Yekaterinburg. This was reported to TASS in the press service of the Museum of the History of Yekaterinburg.

During the war, 832 of the largest defense enterprises of the USSR were moved to the Urals. Sverdlovsk has become one of the five centers for temporary accommodation of people and 212 factories from the regions affected by the war.

"The first virtual Evacuation Museum has been created in Yekaterinburg. Right now you can go on a tour of the virtual exposition, find out how our city met the Great Patriotic War, how it has changed after the evacuation period. It is noteworthy that so far in Russia there has not been a single museum dedicated to this topic," the press service said.

Designers have created interactive maps of the movements of factories and global changes in the city. And experts have prepared a quiz that will help test knowledge about the history of Sverdlovsk in wartime. In the virtual museum, you can also get acquainted with stories about the largest enterprises, scientific and cultural institutions and people who left a noticeable mark on the history of the city.

"Citizens can also share stories about their ancestors using the feedback form of the cloud Museum so that as many people as possible learn about their fate," the press service added.

It is noted that along with the launch of the Evacuation Museum, residents will be given free tours to the largest factories and museums of enterprises in Yekaterinburg.
