In Kyrgyzstan, the situation with the coronavirus is stabilizing.

The situation with the spread of coronavirus infection in Kyrgyzstan is gradually stabilizing. This was announced on Wednesday at a briefing in Bishkek by the Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development of the Republic Nurbolot Usenbaev.

“The situation with the coronavirus is stabilizing,” he said. According to him, “negative growth rates” of infected people have been observed in the country for quite a long time. Over the past 24 hours, only 24 people infected with coronavirus have been identified.

“But we must still observe the mask regime, social distancing and use antiseptics,” Nurbolot Usenbaev continued. According to him, only about 20% of the population in Kyrgyzstan currently comply with these requirements. “For comparison: in neighboring Kazakhstan, this figure is 60%. The pandemic has not receded and we should not forget about these simple protective measures,” the Deputy Minister noted.

At the end of last year, the republic sent an application to the Russian Federation for the Sputnik V vaccine, which was officially registered in the country on February 23, the issue of its production in the territory of Kyrgyzstan is being discussed. As part of the COVAX program, the republic also expects to receive 1.2 million doses of various vaccines. In March, the first 504 thousand doses are expected to arrive from the British-Swedish company AstraZeneca (AstraZeneca).
