Tashkent asks Moscow to increase supplies of coronavirus vaccine

The Prime Minister of Uzbekistan asked Russia to increase the supply of the Sputnik V vaccine to the country.

Tashkent asks Moscow to increase the supply of a coronavirus vaccine and consider the possibility of its production in the republic. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripovat a meeting with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Mishustin.

He noted that vaccination by Sputnik V had been successfully launched in Uzbekistan .

“We would like to ask you to increase its (Sputnik V) volume, we are ready to increase the contract and would be glad, if there is such an opportunity, to start production of it (the vaccine) in Uzbekistan,” he said. Abdulla Aripov.

On April 1, a campaign to vaccinate the population against coronavirus began in Uzbekistan. Currently, they are vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine, the recombinant drug of the Chinese Anhui Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutica and the Russian Sputnik V, more than 600 thousand people have been vaccinated during this time.
