Sputnik V approved in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan allowed certification and subsequent registration of the Sputnik V vaccine.


The Special Commission on Combating the Spread of Coronavirus in Uzbekistan approved the certification and subsequent registration of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V. A message about this was posted on the website of the special commission on Thursday.

“At a meeting of the commission, the results of the third phase of trials of the Sputnik V vaccine, presented by the Russian side, were considered. On this basis, the start, at the first stage, of certification was approved, followed by registration of the Sputnik V vaccine. The Service for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health was instructed to develop an algorithm and procedure for vaccination against COVID-19.

Vaccination in the country will take place on a voluntary basis, first of all it will be offered to people over 65 years of age, people with chronic diseases, medical workers , employees of kindergartens, secondary and higher educational institutions, as well as law enforcement officers. As the Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Vladimir Tyurdenev said earlier, Sputnik V will be delivered to the republic to vaccinate labor migrants who plan to go to work in Russia.

At present, the third stage of clinical trials of the Chinese recombinant vaccine Anhui Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutical (Anhui Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutical).
