Registration of one-component vaccine Sputnik Light will be completed in May

The Sputnik Light vaccine may be registered in May, and it is planned to produce more than 30 million doses per month by the end of the year. Denis Manturov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, told reporters about this.

“We proceed from the fact that in May, maybe even earlier. I think that by the end of the year it will be possible to reach production volumes of more than 30 million doses per month,” he said, answering a question about the Sputnik Light vaccine.

International resistance to Russian vaccines is political, the Russian Federation has never spoken negatively about foreign vaccines, added Denis Manturov.

Earlier, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that after all the necessary procedures are completed, this vaccine will be included in the vaccination program. According to the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko, the Sputnik Light vaccine can be used for revaccination in the future.

On March 29, the Gamaleya Center applied for registration of the Sputnik Light coronavirus vaccine. This is a lighter version of the Sputnik V drug, which consists of only one component and requires only one vaccination instead of two. On February 27, 2021, vaccination of participants in the vaccine study began in Moscow.
