South Korea will introduce ETA - an electronic passport of movement

From September 1, it will be possible to visit South Korea using the electronic entry authorization system.
Tourists and business travelers will need to register with the ETA program and report all their movements in the past two weeks.

said Park Bom-kye, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Korea. “Such a system will help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.”

With the help of the new system, the authorities plan to control the entry of illegal migrants into the country. The ETA program is expected to be open to solo travelers, tour groups, and business travelers.

The list of countries whose citizens can make an electronic travel passport will be updated depending on the situation with the spread of the coronavirus. The completed application form in the ETA system is valid for two years. In addition, the innovation will make it faster and easier to go through border control when entering South Korea.
