Saudi Arabia has lifted the vast majority of coronavirus restrictions in the country since March 5, including masks outside the home and social distancing. The Saudi Gazette reported this on Saturday.

According to the country's Interior Ministry, the mandatory wearing of masks is no longer required when attending open and closed public events. However, it is still necessary to observe the mask regime inside mosques, including in Islamic shrines in Mecca and Medina. Outside the houses of worship, wearing masks is recommended.

When entering the kingdom, you do not need to present the results of a PCR test and observe mandatory quarantine. At the same time, those entering the country for all categories of visas are required to provide insurance that, if necessary, will cover the treatment of coronavirus.

In addition, Saudi Arabia has lifted the ban on flights from Afghanistan and 16 African states, which were -for the pandemic.

According to the publication, the epidemiological situation in the country has allowed the lifting of restrictions, while the authorities emphasize the importance of further implementation of the national plan for vaccination against COVID-19, in particular with a booster dose.
