Russian schoolchildren became champions of the Olympiad in astronomy and astrophysics

Russian schoolchildren set an absolute record at the 14th International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics, which was held in Colombia in a remote format. This was reported on Monday in the telegram channel of the Ministry of Education “Big Change”.

“According to the results of the Olympics, the Russian team set a kind of record: in total, eight gold medals and two silver medals were won, which ensured it the unofficial first place among the teams -participants,” the message says.

It is noted that Maxim Permyakov from the Republican Lyceum for Gifted Children of the Republic of Mordovia became the absolute winner.

Gold medal winners of the main team Ilya Bespyaty, Elisey Zhdanov, Ilya Prosyanoy, Danila Shkinderov, Andrey Azhakin became the silver medalist . EkaterinaBobkova, Aleksey Zhivin, Victoria Krasotkina and Maxim Permyakov won gold in the guest team, silver went to Maxim Ramensky.

The 14th International School Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA 2021) was held from November 14 to 21, 2021 in Bogota (Colombia) in a remote format. 48 countries and 62 teams took part in the Olympiad (each country could bring two teams - the main team and the guest team).
