It will train volunteers who want to work in the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 world championship of working professions. Anna Shubina, head of the volunteer corps of the Novosibirsk Region, told TASS that any resident of the region who is already 18 years old can apply for the competition.

“Any person who is already 18 years old can become a volunteer, while we do not have an upper age limit. Preference will be given to those who speak English or Spanish. Plus those who have a working profession: for example, study at a vocational college or work. Applications will start accepting soon. We have become the first organization in Russia that has earned the status of a resource center for the training of volunteers,” said Shubina.

It is expected that 25 volunteers from Novosibirsk will go to the championship in Kazan. As TASS was specified in the volunteer corps, a total of three such resource centers will be opened in Siberia. Volunteers will be selected in Krasnoyarsk and Transbaikalia.

Russia has won the right to host the 45th WorldSkills WorldSkills Championship, which will be held in Kazan in August 2019. The main objectives of the competition are to draw public attention to blue-collar jobs and increase their popularity. It is expected that about 1.5 thousand contestants and 2 thousand experts from more than 60 countries will take part in the championship.
