Russia leads in the number of tourists visiting Antalya

From January 1 to July 15, 2021, 765,000 Russians visited the province.

Nearly 2.5 million foreign tourists visited Antalya in southern Turkey in the first seven months of 2021. This was reported to TASS on Tuesday by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the resort province.

“From January 1 to July 15, 2021, 2,401,470 foreign tourists visited Antalya. Most tourists came from Russia, Ukraine, Germany and Poland. During this period, 765,706 Russian tourists arrived from Russia,” the ministry noted.

Meanwhile, in January-June last year, the flow of tourists from the Russian Federation to the resort province amounted to just over 145,000 people.
< br> Since April 15, Russia, due to the increase in the number of cases in Turkey, has limited flights to this country: the number of flights has been reduced to two per week on a reciprocal basis. Air traffic with Turkey has been restored since June 22.
