Russia and Armenia to expand cooperation in the field of science

The President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeev, in turn, noted that he was interested in expanding cooperation with Armenian scientists and researchers.


Interaction in the scientific field can become one of the key areas of the Armenian-Russian strategic cooperation. As the press service of the Armenian Cabinet of Ministers reported on Friday, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at a meeting with President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) Alexander Sergeev.

> “Nikol Pashinyan noted the importance of developing and expanding cooperation between Armenia and Russia in the field of science. He welcomed the initiatives aimed at expanding the Armenian-Russian ties in the field of science, noting that the Armenian government will do everything possible for their successful implementation. According to the Prime Minister, the field of science can become one of the key areas of the Armenian-Russian strategic cooperation,” he said.

Alexander Sergeev stressed that he is interested in expanding cooperation with Armenian scientists and researchers, adding that specific proposals are being discussed. “According to the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in the Soviet years, the cooperation between Armenian and Russian scientists was at a high level, Armenian scientists made a significant contribution to the development of the field of science,” the Cabinet of Ministers said in a statement.

Earlier on Friday, the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences< b>Alexander Sergeev and the head of the National Academy of Sciences Ashot Sagyansigned a memorandum on the adoption of a roadmap for Russian-Armenian scientific cooperation. The delegation of Russian scientists will also meet with Armenian Catholicos Garegin II.
