The opening ceremony of the next Russian-Chinese Week of Audiovisual communication took place in China. As the Russian Embassy in China reported on Monday, it was held in an online format.

The project provides for the broadcast in the Russian and Chinese media of various video and audio products of the two countries. Among them are short films, animation, cartoons, various game videos, documentaries and historical films.

This year, within the framework of the project, a short video contest, an online youth festival "Student Voice", as well as a Russian-Chinese animated dialogue will be held.

"It is gratifying that cooperation between our two countries in the field of mass media continues to develop even against the backdrop of a pandemic, which, on the one hand, imposes certain restrictions, but, on the other, encourages us to search for new formats of interaction," Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov said in a video message. According to the diplomat, this project allows residents of the two countries to get even better acquainted with the culture, life and traditions of Russia and China

The organizers of the project are the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation and the State Administration of Radio Broadcasting and Television of the People's Republic of China. Over the three years of the project's existence, a total of more than a hundred different audiovisual products have been broadcast. These include the Russian cartoon "Masha and the Bear", as well as the Chinese documentary series "China at the Tip of the Tongue".
