The annual Open Dagestan Tourism Forum will be held for the first time this year in an expanded format - with the participation of all regions of the North Caucasus Federal District, it is planned to be held in September, the Minister of Tourism and Folk Arts of the Republic of Dagestan told TASSEmin Merdanov.
"This year we want to hold a forum with the involvement of our colleagues from other republics of the North Caucasus, a preliminary agreement on this was reached during the federal meeting on tourism in the North Caucasus Federal District, which was held in April in Derbent. The forum will be held in this format for the first time," he saidEmin Merdanov.
According to him, the forum is planned to be held at the end of September, timed to coincide with the World Tourism Day. It is assumed that one of the main venues of the forum will be the central square of Makhachkala, which will house, including farmsteads, demonstrating the tourist potential of Dagestan districts, as well as other regions of the North Caucasus Federal District.
The first Open Dagestan forum was held in the republic in September 2014 and gathered about 700 participants, the second time it was held in 2019, the third - after the coronavirus pandemic in 2021. The purpose of the forum is the formation of a positive tourist image of the republic, the creation of a professional business platform in the south of Russia and in the North Caucasus Federal District that contributes to improving the efficiency of the tourism industry, as well as the promotion of a regional tourism product, strengthening interregional and international cooperation in the field of tourism.
