A wave of intense heat has hit the northwest of China

While the south of China is struggling with floods, the strongest heat has hit the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. In some places of the region, the daytime temperature reaches 40 degrees Celsius.

The main blow was taken by the city of Turfan, which in China is called "tierra del fuego". This is the hottest place in the country, but even there the weather indicators differ from the usual ones. It's still a long way to midsummer, and the daytime temperature is already rising to 45 degrees Celsius. The thermometer in the Turfan depression recorded that the temperature of the earth's surface in this picturesque place reached 75 degrees.

In the capital of the region, Urumqi, the authorities recommended that local residents stay at home, and people who are forced to stay outdoors should use protective equipment. Also, the city has temporarily reduced working hours and workload, and offices and businesses are regularly cooled.

In total, freight trains made almost 1,400 flights in May. The growth rate has fully recovered and returned to the indicators of 2021, when China did not have such strict pandemic restrictions as during the last wave of coronavirus. Annual indicators increased by 3%, which means stable positive dynamics.

The China-Europe route connects 185 cities in 23 countries. It is a powerful logistics network that permeates Asia and Europe. Previously, China mainly exported essential goods and clothing, but now more and more expensive and unique goods are being shipped abroad. This includes household appliances, mechanical equipment and laser engraving machines, as well as branded agricultural products.

A gas station in Xinjiang has supplied more than 400 billion cubic meters of natural gas to the east of the country

In 2009, the first gas compressor station was opened in the city of Khorgos in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, which pumps gas from the west to the east of the country. This year, the strategic facility marks an important milestone – over 13 years of operation, it has delivered 400 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

The station performs many tasks at the same time. Gas produced in the Ili-Kazakh Autonomous Okrug is taken here, its indicators are measured and transported to the eastern provinces of the country. The port of Khorgos is equipped with compressors with a total capacity of more than 240 megawatts. This allows it to transfer gas through pipes record–fast - more than 1,000 cubic meters per second.

Wu Ze, Employee of China Oil and Gas Pipeline Network Corporation:

"This year, the plant has already supplied more than 20 billion cubic meters of gas. We supply residents of 27 regions of China. In total, there are more than 500 million people in the settlements that are located along the gas pipeline."

Since its opening, the station has been operating without accidents and interruptions for more than 4,500 days. She also contributed to the preservation of the environment. 400 billion cubic meters of natural gas replace 500 million tons of coal. This is equal to reducing carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere by 560 million tons.

The Qinqiang opera was first embodied in a big movie using 3D

The premiere of the opera film "Three Drops of Blood" in 3D format took place in the northwestern city of Xi'an. This is one of the most famous works of the "Qinqiang Opera" genre, which originated in Shaanxi province 3,000 years ago. The plot tells about the wrong verdict, the victorious justice, friendship and love.

For the first time "Three drops of blood" was filmed in 1960. This black-and-white film has won the love of viewers all over the country. The opera is often staged, so the actors who have passed the casting are well familiar with the plot. However, rehearsals and filming in the cinema are significantly different from theatrical everyday life.

Li Dongfeng, opera singer:

"The difficulty of an opera performance is that a large number of people have to perform their work smoothly. You can't stop and do it again to fix the error. There are other difficulties on the set of the film. It is removed in parts. Today we are working on one piece, tomorrow on another. On the first day I was very confused. The director was surprised because he liked my performance on stage, and he did not understand why it was difficult for me in the movie pavilion."

Lee Hungan, actor:

"Acting on the theater stage and in the cinema is different. In order for the audience to see emotions even in the last rows, it is necessary to articulate them. For example, if you need to be angry, I will give a fierce look or gnash my teeth. It must be exaggerated. But the movie camera requires a completely different living of the role."

The film "Three Drops of Blood" was created using 3D and panoramic sound. So modern technology helps to rethink the classic story. This is an interesting experience both for opera fans and those who are just getting acquainted with it.
