The President of Kazakhstan proposed to hold meetings of heads of relevant departments and news agencies of Central Asia on a regular basis.

President of KazakhstanKassym-Jomart Tokayev on Thursday at the consultative meeting of the heads of Central Asian states in Cholpon-Ata proposed to create a region-wide TV channel or an Internet news site.

"Unfortunately, our media still have an acute information hunger in terms of covering life in the countries of the region. It is desirable to reverse this trend, perhaps it makes sense to create a region-wide TV channel or an Internet news site. For a detailed study of these points, it will be useful to hold regular meetings of the heads of relevant departments and news agencies of Central Asia," he saidKassym-Jomart Tokayev.
