In the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, an increase in the standard of living was noted

"No force can deny the development, progress, stability and prosperity achieved over the past decades in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region," said the official representative of the People's Government of the region.Xu Guixiang. He also stated that Xinjiang focuses on people in its development and adheres to the concept of "a happy life is the greatest human right."

In recent years, the authorities have significantly increased the level of human rights protection and in practice guaranteed the right to life, security and development for all ethnic groups.

Xu Guixiang, official representative of the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region:
"In these years in Xinjiang, more than 70% of the total expenditures of the state budget are aimed at ensuring and improving the living conditions of people. All children in Xinjiang are covered by the 9-year free compulsory education program, and in the south of the district – 15-year. Employment of representatives of all ethnic groups is guaranteed. We also won the battle against absolute poverty. By the end of 2020, all rural residents who lived below the poverty line have broken out of poverty."

The population of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has increased from less than 5 million people in 1953 to almost 26 million people in 2020. At the same time, the number of Uighurs has grown almost 3 times – to almost 12 million people, and their average life expectancy has increased from less than 30 years in 1949 to almost 75 years in 2019.

The volume of gas injection into underground storage in the north of China has reached a record for the country

The total volume of gas injection into the Dazhanto storage facility in northern China has reached a record for the country of 10 billion cubic meters! So much is consumed by 50 million families of three people per year. Dazhanto is the main source of gas supply to Beijing and surrounding areas. This is the first commercial underground gas storage facility in China. It is located at the Dagan oil field in Tianjin and has been operating since 2000. Dazhanto can withstand seasonal peaks in gas demand and serve as a backup site in case of emergencies in other storage facilities.

The historic building in Shanghai was returned to its original place after construction work

Moving at the age of a hundred is a difficult matter. In 2020, the historic building weighing 3,800 tons was moved to 32 meters for underground construction work and now it has been returned to its place. The contractors of the project had to be extremely careful when moving the structure, since the foundation of the building built in the early 20th century is quite shallow, and many parts of the facade needed protection. In addition, this house is located near the metro line and other important communications.

Yin Tianjun, Technical manager of the building relocation project:
"Moving a building horizontally is like serving tofu on a plate. We used a computer control system for synchronous movement to ensure the stability of the building. Now we will repair and strengthen it."

After the reconstruction, the traveler house will become a new historical and cultural landmark of Shanghai. In addition, the building will also perform commercial functions.

Fossilized footprints of four dinosaur species discovered in Hebei Province

The fossilized footprints found in Zhangjiakou belong to four species of dinosaurs. This conclusion was made by Chinese scientists. The results of the research were published by the Department of Natural Resources of Hebei Province.

Xing Lida, Associate Professor at the Chinese University of Earth Sciences:
"Dinosaur footprints were left between the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. This footprint belongs to a new species, we named it "Asian dinosaur Wangshi". Judging by the trail, the length of his body was from four to five meters. The lizard was at the top of the food chain."

In 2020, geologists discovered about 4,300 paw prints of prehistoric animals on an area of more than 9,000 square meters. Experts have established that these tracks were left by dinosaurs about 150 million years ago. At that time, there were reservoirs and huge forests growing here, in which herbivorous and predatory dinosaurs lived. The found traces will help scientists in compiling a full picture of the prehistoric period of life on Earth.

Tibet Museum opened in Lhasa after reconstruction

The Museum of Tibet in Lhasa was closed for reconstruction for five years. And here he meets the guests again! Thanks to an investment of almost 660 million yuan, the renovated building is almost five times larger than the old one. On the opening day, a documentary series from the Chinese Media Corporation about the peaceful liberation of Tibet in 1951 was shown here. This picture attracted a lot of viewers.

The Tibetan Museum is a major cultural object. More than 500,000 exhibits are stored here, which have high historical, artistic and scientific value.
