“A country as big as China , was able to control the spread of the virus in this way for a month or two. In March, at the invitation of Chairman Xi Jinping, I came to China, it was a gesture from Pakistan, which recognized the fact that the Chinese people managed to control the virus. In this regard, there has been successful cooperation between Pakistan and China. China shared its experience and sent a medical team to Pakistan twice. We learned from the Chinese experience as it was the first experience in the world, and those countries that listened to and implemented this experience got better, such as Pakistan,” he said.

According to him , Pakistan is collaborating with China to develop a new vaccine against COVID-19.

“Pakistan is successfully conducting the third phase of clinical trials of the vaccine. I am sure that the vaccine developed by China will be more for the sake of the people than for commercial gain. So I hope that we will find a good vaccine that can be shared with all people in the world,” said Arif Alvi.

As of December 15, the number of COVID-19 infections in Pakistan has reached 443,246 and the death toll is 8,905 according to the country's Ministry of Health.
