Over 90% of UAE residents vaccinated

More than 90% of the UAE population has been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus.


More than 90% of the population of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) received the first dose of a vaccine against a new coronavirus. This was reported on Monday by Sky News Arabia.

According to the Ministry of Health and Prevention, “to date, 18,997,951 doses of the vaccine have been administered (about 10 million people live in the UAE - TASS note) distribution scale of 192 doses for every 100 people. “Vaccination is in line with the ministry’s plan to ensure that all members of society are vaccinated and acquire herd immunity, which will help reduce the number of cases and control the spread of the virus,” the ministry said, indicating that 55,408 vaccinations were made in the last 24 hours alone.

According to the ministry, 632 new cases of infection were detected over the past day. “Sick people of different nationalities are in a stable condition and receive the necessary assistance,” the ministry said. “Two people have died due to complications from COVID-19.” Since the beginning of the pandemic, 729,518 cases have been identified in the country, 2,064 patients have died. Currently, the authorities are betting on large-scale testing in order to identify all possible cases of infection with the new coronavirus.
