Despite the strict observance of the quarantine, on April 28 and 29, Israel adequately celebrated the 72nd Independence Day.

The holiday began on Mount Herzl near Jerusalem with the hoisting of the national flag at half mast in mourning on the Day of Remembrance for the fallen in the wars for Israel and the victims of terrorism. Then 12 torches were lit in the memorial, symbolizing the 12 tribes of Israel. The lighting ceremony was attended by 16 well-known Israeli citizens, representatives of various ethnic groups and faiths.
