Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova said on Monday that she and Turkish Ombudsman Sheref Malkoch had scheduled a meeting in Istanbul to, in particular, discuss humanitarian assistance to Russians in Turkey. She announced this in her telegram channel.

"We have scheduled a meeting this week in Istanbul with Turkish Ombudsman Sheref Malkoc to sign an additional protocol on joint activities in 2022-2023. We also plan to discuss several specific cases concerning humanitarian assistance to our compatriots in Turkey, as well as the protection of human and civil rights in the field of labor migration, economic and civil rights," she wrote.Tatiana Moskalkova.

She noted that the talks of the President of Russia held in SochiVladimir Putin and the President of TurkeyRecep Tayyip Erdogan has opened a "new page in the relations between the two countries."

"It is very important that the leaders of Russia and Turkey have agreed to increase the volume of interaction and cooperation in such areas as energy, transport, trade, agriculture, industry, finance, tourism and construction. This gives an additional impetus to the expansion of cooperation on the human rights track, because any segment of socio-economic life is somehow connected with the human dimension," she notedTatiana Moskalkova.

Following the talks between the leaders of Russia and Turkey, a joint statement of the two presidents was adopted. Vladimir Putin andTayyip Erdogan agreed to increase the volume of trade between the countries, to increase cooperation in transport, industry, agriculture, construction. In addition, the statement says it is necessary to ensure the implementation of the Istanbul agreements, including in terms of the unhindered export of Russian grain, and emphasizes the importance of preserving the political unity and territorial integrity of Syria.
