No cases of coronavirus infection detected in North Korea

At the beginning of 2020, the authorities of the republic introduced tough anti-coronavirus measures, completely closing the external borders.


Not a single case of infection with a new coronavirus has been reported in the DPRK. The World Health Organization (WHO) announced this on Wednesday.

According to its data, 693 covid tests were carried out in the country between July 30 and August 5, all of them were negative. In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, the DPRK authorities have tested about 36,000 citizens without revealing a single case of infection.

In early 2020, Pyongyang introduced stringent measures to prevent the infection from entering the country, completely closing its external borders.
