A new winter route in the Greater Sochi region has opened in the Caucasian Reserve.

This route of the reserve is a good workout for any level of preparedness: the height difference is up to 500 meters, in some places there are steep turns of 60 degrees, as well as gentle slopes. On the way, you can observe the behavior of chamois, deer, wild boars.

“From the horizon of Aishkha, the most beautiful view of the winter panoramas of alpine meadows opens up. In clear weather, both the Aishkha pass itself and the entire massif of the Agepsta mountain peak (3,256.6 m), located on the border of Russia and Abkhazia, are perfectly visible, ”the press service specified. The winter route works only for groups of tourists and only accompanied by a licensed guide. Two tourist companies of Krasnaya Polyana take tourists along this route.

Two more winter excursion eco-tourist routes have been opened in the reserve. The route to the Bzerpinsky cornice works exclusively in organized groups with a guide and avalanche training. The route "Husky in Lagonaki" is suitable for families with children, the team of sled dogs of the Siberian Husky breed has been working since December 1.

The Caucasian Biosphere Reserve, established in 1924, is the largest mountain forest reserve in Europe and the main component of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site "Western Caucasus". The total area is more than 280 thousand hectares, it is located on the lands of the Krasnodar Territory, Adygea, Karachay-Cherkessia and adjoins the border with Abkhazia. This is an area where a large number of endangered species of plants and animals are concentrated. The routes of the reserve are laid out in such a way that visitors can see rocky massifs, dense forests, alpine meadows and a crooked forest zone, mountain lakes and glaciers. Cordons "Laura" and "Guzeripl", a yew-boxwood grove, the park "Southern Cultures" are open to the public all year round.
