Construction of the Snowflake station will begin in Yamal in the near future



It will be located in the Jade Valley of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District and will become the world's first scientific and educational complex that operates on hydrogen energy.
Documents on the examination of the year-round Arctic scientific station "Snowflake" in Yamal will be ready in the near future. This was announced to TASS on Wednesday by the governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitry Artyukhov.
"Glavgosexpertiza will be released in the coming weeks. We will start construction," he told TASS correspondent on the sidelines of the All—Russian Youth Educational Forum "Territory of Meanings". Dmitry Artyukhov also positively characterized the progress of the project.
The forum "Territory of Meanings" has been held since 2015, until 2018 it was held in the Vladimir region. Since 2019, the forum's venue has been the Senezh management workshop of the Russia — the Land of Opportunities platform in Solnechnogorsk, near Moscow. The forum is organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) and ANO "Russia is a country of opportunities".

The year-round Arctic research station "Snowflake" in Yamal will use advanced technologies in the field of clean energy production and life support systems. The station will be located in the Jade Valley of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District and will become the world's first scientific and educational complex that operates on hydrogen energy. According to the embassy, Russian scientists will be able to conduct research here in a whole range of areas, including hydrogen energy, thermal stabilization of permafrost soils, carbon footprint reduction technologies, Arctic medicine, telecommunications in high latitudes, aero- and hydroponics, robotic platforms with artificial intelligence. The research program announced during the development of the project has already been supported by the Russian Academy of Sciences.
