The Museum of the East invites you to celebrate the Eastern New Year.

The event will take place in the wing of the Lunin estate (Main building, Nikitsky Boulevard, 12, p.1) from 13:00 to 16:00 and will take place on a significant date – the Lantern Festival (February 5). This holiday completes the large-scale celebration of the New Year in many Eastern countries.

A bright and rich program awaits the guests of the event: the classic production of the Kegen theater "Three Cripples", the festival ritual of the awakening of Kagura spring. A photo zone with traditional Chinese costumes will work during the event. The guests of the event will learn about the traditions and peculiarities of Chinese costume and take beautiful photos for memory.

After the performance of the actors, origami workshops will begin. As an introduction to this art, the participants, under the guidance of teachers, will create two figures: a simple butterfly and a crane made of high-quality Japanese paper in traditional Japanese ornaments.

During the event, the tea master of the Oriental Museum Andrey Gretchin will treat you to delicious Chinese tea, and two "Friends of the Museum" cards will be played among the most attentive guests. Before the start of the program, the opening speech will be given by the advisor to the General Director Tatyana Khristoforovna Metaxa.
