The passenger ship "Igor Farkhutdinov", which was previously stuck in the dense ice of the Sea of Okhotsk, arrived in the Sakhalin Region after being released with the assistance of the icebreaker "Kapitan Khlebnikov".

The newspaper Izvestiya writes about this with reference to the press service of the regional government. The operation was successfully completed only today around 16:00 local time (08:00 Moscow time).

Now the passengers of the ship, who have endured a long sea voyage, are disembarking in the port of Korsakov. Containers are being unloaded,” the message says.
On the night of February 4-5, it became known that the Igor Farkhutdinov motor ship, carrying 127 passengers and 42 containers, got stuck in the ice of the southern part of the Sea of Okhotsk.

Later, with the help of the Kapitan Khlebnikov icebreaker, the ship was freed.

In January, Kryminform reported that two sailors were evacuated from a tugboat in distress in the Kerch Strait.
