At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, called on citizens over 60 years of age to be more actively vaccinated.

More than 51 million Russians have already received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko told reporters on Wednesday.

“More than 51 million have been vaccinated with the first component against coronavirus,” said he.

At the same time, Mikhail Murashko urged citizens over 60 to be more actively vaccinated. “We need to have time to board even the last carriage, get vaccinated, and protect ourselves,” the minister said.

“Today, the healthcare system is working with an additional huge load. We see that the diversion of resources for the treatment of patients with a new coronavirus infection can be avoided by vaccination, ”he concluded.
