More than 3.5 million Russian tourists have visited Antalya since the beginning of the year

According to ATOR, the share of Russians among all foreign tourists in the Turkish province exceeded pre-pandemic values.

More than 3.5 million tourists from Russia visited Antalya from January to November 2021, Executive Director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia Maya Lomidze told TASS, citing data from the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Turkish province.

“The largest number of tourist trips to the tourist capital of Turkey for 11 months of 2021 was made from Russia - 3 million 543 thousand 314 trips, Ukraine - 1 million 268 thousand 362 trips, Germany - 1 million 223 thousand 158 trips, Poland — 412,978 trips,” saidMaya Lomidze.

In just 11 months of 2021, more than 8.8 million tourists visited Antalya. The Russian tourist flow to this Turkish resort for 11 months turned out to be 143% more than in the same period in 2020, but 35.9% less than in January-November 2019, she noted.

“Despite the decrease in the number in absolute terms, the share of Russians among all foreign tourists in Antalya in 2021 exceeded pre-pandemic values. So, if in January-November 2019, Russian tourists in Antalya occupied a share of 38.24% in the total volume of foreign tourist flow to this Turkish resort, then in the same months of 2021 - already 39.82%, ”said the expert .

Previously, Maya Lomidzereported that more than 5.5 million Russians could visit Turkey in 2021.
