For the fourth year in a row, the Russian Embassy in Phnom Penh is holding an action dedicated to Victory Day.

The annual event, which is called “Plant a tree for that guy”, was attended not only by employees of the Russian diplomatic mission, but also  students  together with the teaching staff of the school at the Russian embassy.

As Dmitry Tsvetkov, Russia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Cambodia, stressed, the trees will become a symbol of memory of all the soldiers who did not return from the fields of World War II. According to him, this is "a kind of symbol of generations, which reminds descendants of the feat of their grandfathers."

The participants of the action tied a St. George ribbon to the trunk of each young tree, paying a debt of gratitude and deep respect to the victory of the Soviet people.  ;
