It is already known today that the coronavirus does not pass without a trace for the body. The disease is characterized by multisystem inflammatory reactions: a number of vital body systems are under attack: not only the lungs, but also the cardiovascular system, liver, kidneys, central nervous system, endocrine system. Therefore, people suffering from a number of chronic diseases, such as arterial hypertension, coronary heart disease, diabetes mellitus, have an increased risk of developing complications after the disease.

In this situation, it is important that patients understand that the disease does not end after receiving a negative coronavirus test. To eliminate the negative consequences of COVID-19, it is necessary that the patient is not left without professional medical support by being discharged from the hospital.

According to the head of the Center, Maria Mikhailovna Petina, one of its main The tasks are to provide highly qualified consultative, diagnostic and therapeutic assistance to people who need to identify disorders after infection with the COVID-19 coronavirus, clarify the diagnosis, treat, rehabilitate and prevent severe complications in case of infection.

“By the time the Center was created we have accumulated sufficient internal experience in the management of such patients. We have switched to a round-the-clock mode of operation the radiation diagnostics service, the therapeutic service, and the laboratory diagnostics service. Thanks to this work, we were able to identify more than 2,500 patients with confirmed coronavirus infection. Patients applied not only from Moscow, but also from the regions. During their stay in mandatory quarantine, our doctors kept in touch with them, provided the necessary assistance and support. After the lifting of quarantine measures, they returned to us for aftercare. Thanks to the experience gained, the idea was formed to create a Patient Care Center to identify complications in those who had a coronavirus infection and to prevent a severe course of a viral infection,” said the Head of the Center, Deputy Chief Physician for Internal Quality Control and Safety of Medical Activities CDC MEDSI on Belorusskaya Maria Mikhailovna Petina

The specialists of the center provide consultative and medical assistance to patients who have applied in the following areas: therapy, immunology, infectious diseases, neurology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, nephrology, cardiology, ophthalmology, endocrinology. Within a few hours, the patient can undergo the entire range of necessary laboratory and instrumental examinations using modern techniques. Dynamic monitoring of patients is carried out by specialist doctors according to the profile of the disease.

As Gennady Alexandrovich Konovalov noted, CDC MEDSI on Belorusskaya has experience in diagnosing COVID-19 in more than 2,500 patients. The clinic has developed a special system to protect personnel from infection. In addition, all employees underwent mandatory vaccination against pneumococcal infection, a risk factor for severe pneumonia. Strict observance of anti-epidemic measures, Professor Konovalov believes, will help prevent the second wave of COVID-19 infection and infection of medical personnel.

The Center's specialists have developed two unique CHECK-UP programs: for diagnosing factors that aggravate the course of the disease, and for diagnosing disorders caused by a previous coronavirus infection.

The "Prevention of severe COVID" program involves the identification of risk factors in patients with concomitant chronic pathologies - cardiovascular, endocrine and others, so that in case of infection, the course of the disease passes easier and with minimal complications. Preventive measures are aimed at correcting the patient's immune disorders, normalizing the level of vitamins and eliminating vascular endothelial dysfunction, regulating the blood coagulation system, blood viscosity and dyslipidemia, and drawing up an individual vaccination plan. The "Rehabilitation after COVID" program is focused on determining which functions and organs have been affected by infection and providing medical assistance.

Currently, the Center uses the latest in the treatment of patients with complications after COVID-19 a Japanese drug that has already proven itself with the highest efficiency in the treatment of severe elderly patients, including those on mechanical ventilation, and prevents a cytokine storm.
