Foreigners will be able to enter the country without restrictions and without mandatory quarantine.

From April 1, the Malaysian authorities completely open borders to foreign citizens, subject to their vaccination against coronavirus. This is stated in the message of Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yacob, circulated on Tuesday.

“Foreigners will be able to arrive in the country without restrictions, without mandatory quarantine,” he said. As the head of government clarified, for this, “it is necessary to be fully vaccinated, have a negative PCR test result and pass a rapid test within 24 hours of arrival.”

The Malaysian government closed the borders in March 2020. Approximately 98% of adult residents of the country are fully vaccinated. The Ministry of Health has authorized the use of nine vaccines, including the Russian Sputnik V.
