All adults in Malaysia will be vaccinated by October.

The Malaysian government expects that at least 500,000 people will be vaccinated against coronavirus every day in the country, which will cover the entire adult population of the state by October. Prime Minister Mukhiddin Yassin wrote this on his Facebook page on Sunday.

“Vaccination is the only successful way for us to defeat the pandemic,” the head of government said, adding that "authorities have ordered over 76.1 million doses of vaccines." According to him, "Pfizer-BioNTech accounts for 70% of this volume, Sinovac - 23%, AstraZeneca - 10%."

"We intend to reach 500 thousand injections per day, which will allow us to vaccinate 100% of the adult population of the country,” said Mukhiddin Yassin. “It was previously planned that only by the first quarter of next year, 80% would be vaccinated,” the prime minister said.

Currently, about 13% of the population in Malaysia have been fully vaccinated against covid.
