Kuwait returns to pre-pandemic life

Kuwait announced the lifting of restrictions due to the pandemic and the return of the country to normal life.

Kuwait announced on Wednesday it was lifting restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic and cautiously returning the country to normal. Sabah Khaled al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

"Kuwait is entering the fifth phase of the gradual lifting of restrictions, and we are returning to normal life with precautions," — quotes his words the news agency of the emirate KUNA. From October 24, the emirate's international airport will operate at full capacity. The lifting of all restrictions applies primarily to vaccinated citizens.

Since August 1, Kuwait has opened land and sea borders for people who have been vaccinated against coronavirus with drugs approved in the country, which include Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson.

Over the past week, 500 cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in the country. Since the beginning of the pandemic in Kuwait, with a population of 4.2 million, every tenth person has been infected since the beginning of the pandemic. About 2.5 thousand people died from complications. As in other Arab states of the Persian Gulf, primarily in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait prioritizes 100% vaccination of the population.
