Yugra is 88 years old.

On December 10, 1930, the Ostyako-Vogulsky National District was formed as part of the Ural Region, with its center in the village of Samarovo. Today it is the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra with its capital in Khanty-Mansiysk. The Okrug's population is 1.5 million people.

Modern Ugra is truly of strategic importance for Russia. More than half of the oil in our country (51%) is produced here, which is about 5% of world oil production.

The region is among the leaders in a number of other indicators. So, it ranks first in the Russian Federation in terms of electricity production; the second - in terms of industrial production, natural gas production; third - in terms of investment in fixed assets. Serious attention is paid here to the development of the agro-industrial sector; its own production provides up to two thirds of the needs of the local market in meat, up to 60% - in dairy products.

The volume of the gross regional product of Yugra is almost 3.5 trillion rubles.

The Okrug takes an active part in international trade. This year, the volume of exports approached $15 billion.
