Kazakhstan plans to join the “I travel without COVID-19” project by the end of the quarter.

The Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan expects that the republic will join the project by the end of the current quarter, allowing citizens of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to travel using the Travel without COVID-19 mobile application. This was announced on Tuesday at a briefing by Deputy Head of the Department Janelle Kushukova.

“The planned date [for connecting Kazakhstan to the project] is the second quarter of 2021. This issue should be resolved by the end of this half-year,” she said, answering a relevant question from journalists.

According to her, work is currently underway to integrate the Kazakh database of PCR test results and vaccinations.

The “I travel without COVID-19” application was created by the Digital Initiatives Fund of the Eurasian Development Bank to allow people who have not contracted the coronavirus to move between the EAEU states during the pandemic. This app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.
