In Kazakhstan, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of independence, a banknote with a portrait of Nursultan Nazarbayev was issued.

The National Bank of Kazakhstan is issuing a 20,000 tenge ($46) banknote dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the republic's independence, with the image of the country's first president Nursultan Nazarbayev. This was announced on Wednesday by the press service of the financial regulator.

“The jubilee banknote has 27 security elements. The banknote is made in the predominant gray color. The size of the banknote is 155 mm by 79 mm, the circulation will be 3 million,” the message says.

The banknote itself is made using a unique technology - for the first time in the world, a demetallized strip is used, located along the entire vertical of the banknote and containing holographic images of the denomination , the logo of the 30th anniversary of independence and a facsimile of the President of the country Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The portrait of Nursultan Nazarbayev is presented on both sides of the banknote. It also depicts state symbols of the republic, a panoramic view of Nur-Sultan and the residence of the head of state. The commemorative banknote is obligatory for acceptance at face value throughout the territory of Kazakhstan for all types of payments, as well as for crediting to bank accounts and transfer, exchange and exchange in all banks of the country. It is planned that the banknotes will appear in circulation in the first ten days of December.

The new banknote is not the first with the image ofNursultan Nazarbayev. “In December 2016, the National Bank issued a commemorative banknote of 10,000 tenge, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of independence, with a portrait of the first president,” the press service noted.

Kazakhstan celebrates the Day of the First President on December 1 . It was established in 2011, and was celebrated for the first time on December 1 of the following year. The date for this day was not chosen by chance - on December 1, 1991, Nursultan Nazarbayev was elected President of Kazakhstan in the first popular elections.
