The Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan expects that the Karaganda Pharmaceutical Complex (KPC) will soon begin production of the Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik Light. “KPC has plans to produce Sputnik Light from a substance that will come from the Russian Federation . We have already registered this vaccine. Issues on permits for KFK have already been practically resolved. Production processes are underway to organize the production of this vaccine. We hope that in the near future Sputnik Light will be produced at the Karaganda pharmaceutical complex. There are no insurmountable questions,” he said.

On July 5, 2021, the Russian Direct Investment Fund announced that the Kazakh Ministry of Health had registered the single-component vaccine Sputnik Light. On January 11 of this year, the Karaganda Pharmaceutical Complex delivered 150,000 doses of this drug to Kazakhstan.
