Iran starts vaccinating citizens with home-produced drug

Iran is expanding the campaign to vaccinate citizens against coronavirus - the fifth wave of COVID-19 is expected in the country, this time the Indian strain of the virus - "delta" is actively spreading. 


Residents of the country can receive a nationally produced vaccine called "KOVIRAN Barakat".

There is great confidence in the Iranian vaccine, thanks to the know-how of Iranian scientists and many years of experience in the production of vaccines.

Iran's supreme leader, 82-year-old Ali Khamenei, has already been vaccinated against the coronavirus. In addition, the country is using a co-produced vaccine with Cuba, and scientists are developing five more drugs for COVID-19. Tehran also launched the production of the Russian Sputnik-V vaccine.
