The Indonesian authorities have expanded the list of categories of foreign citizens who can obtain a visa to enter the country. This was announced on Thursday by the information portal CNN Indonesia with reference to the representative of the Directorate General of Immigration of Indonesia, Arya Angkara.

"The Order of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights once again allows entry to Indonesia for foreign nationals holding visitor visas and limited stay visas," said Arya Angkara.

He added that foreigners are required to provide a certificate of full vaccination against coronavirus, as well as comply with restrictive measures. The representative of the department noted that the visa application can be completed and submitted online. At the same time, the country's authorities did not allow the issuance of tourist visas.

In February 2020, Indonesia suspended the visa-free regime, as well as the issuance of visas on arrival, due to an increase in the number of cases of coronavirus infection in the republic. Previously, Russian citizens had the right to visa-free entry into the country for up to 30 days.

Over the past 24 hours, 3,900 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in Indonesia, 267 people have died. In total, during the pandemic in Indonesia, which is home to 270.2 million people, more than 4.1 million cases of coronavirus infection were recorded, more than 139 thousand people died, more than 3.9 million patients recovered.
