India reports sharp drop in coronavirus cases

Doctors warn that it is too early to talk about the end of the third wave of coronavirus cases.


India registered 255,874 new cases of coronavirus infection over the past day, which is 16.39% lower than on Monday, when 306,064 cases were detected. This was announced on Tuesday by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on the official website.

Before that, India recorded more than 300 thousand new infections daily for five consecutive days. Doctors say that the decrease in the incidence is a positive sign, but warn that it is too early to talk about the end of the third wave of coronavirus cases.

The total number of people infected during the pandemic in India approached 40 million and amounted to 39,799,202 people died 490,462 people from the consequences of infection in the country.

Currently, India is experiencing the so-called third wave of the spread of coronavirus infection, which began at the end of last year.
