In Malaysia, 40% of residents completed the full course of vaccination

Half the population has already received the first dose.

At least 40% of Malaysian adults are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus. The Ad Hoc Committee on Access to Vaccines Supply said in a tweet on Thursday. In addition, "half of the population has already received the first dose," the agency added.

The states of Sabah and Johor, as well as the capital, Kuala Lumpur, are the leaders in vaccination.

Former Prime Minister Mukhiddin Yassin promised that by October the entire adult population would be vaccinated. The government program currently uses drugs from Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinovac and AstraZeneca.
