The sanitary and epidemiological situation in Kazakhstan associated with the spread of coronavirus has gradually stabilized over the past two weeks. This was announced on Wednesday at a briefing by the First Vice Minister of Health of the Republic Marat Shoranov.

“Over the past two weeks, gradual stabilization of the epidemic situation has been observed in Kazakhstan. Compared with the beginning of August, the incidence rate is reduced by 1.4 times. Over the past month, the prevalence index of coronavirus infection has decreased by 17%,” he said.

According to him, the occupancy of infectious beds has decreased from 56% to 36%, intensive care beds from 45% to 36%.

Marat Shoranov also noted that 6,928,646 people were vaccinated with the first component of the coronavirus vaccine in Kazakhstan, which is 69.5% of the population subject to vaccination, 5,755,817 people received both doses. The population of the country is 19 million people.
