The population immunization rate against coronavirus in Indonesia has reached 86.6%. Such data from the Ministry of Health are published by the Straits Times newspaper on Saturday.

“The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Internal Affairs jointly conducted a serological study for the presence of antibodies to the coronavirus, which showed that approximately 86.6% of the population already have immunity,” — said the head of the Ministry of HealthBudi Gunadi Sadikin. “This was achieved thanks to vaccination, as well as the natural immunity that people developed after the infection,” the minister said.

According to him, “similar studies will be carried out every six months to adjust the strategy to combat COVID -19".

Meanwhile, according to government data, approximately 55% of Indonesians have been fully vaccinated. During the epidemic, more than 5.9 million cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in the country, approximately 153 thousand people died.
