Humanitarian aid in the form of 2 million doses of coronavirus vaccine and syringes was delivered on Wednesday from China to Tajikistan. This was reported by the Tajik agency Khovar.

“According to a preliminary agreement between the governments of Tajikistan and the People's Republic of China, 2 million doses of the CoronaVac vaccine from the Sinovac company of the People's Republic of China were delivered today to Tajikistan,” the head of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Department told the Khovar agency. of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan Navruz Jafarov.

“According to the action plan and the distribution of vaccines by regions of the country, starting today, vaccines will be distributed throughout all cities and districts of the country, depending on the target population, which will intensify the vaccination campaign against the new coronavirus infection in Tajikistan,” said Navruz Jafarov.

According to him, next week through the international mechanism COVAX is expected to arrive in Tajikistan an additional batch of vaccine British-Swedish company AstraZeneca of European production.

“To date, more than four million doses of vaccines have been delivered to Tajikistan, which are being effectively used,” saidNavruz Jafarov. “Currently, the need of the population for vaccines is growing. After all, everyone knows that the only way to prevent and save from this infection is vaccination.”

The head of the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Safety of the Ministry of Health urged residents of Tajikistan, depending on conditions and opportunities, to contact medical institutions and get vaccinated against coronavirus. According to the Khovar agency, more than 474,000 people have been vaccinated in Tajikistan to date.
