Growth of COVID-19 incidence slowed down in Kazakhstan

The sanitary and epidemic situation with the spread of coronavirus in Kazakhstan in early August stabilized and is developing according to an optimistic scenario. This was announced on Wednesday at a government meeting by the Minister of Health of the Republic Aleksey Tsoi.

“In connection with the detection of the delta strain in July, an increase in the incidence was registered in the republic, but since the beginning of August there has been a slowdown in growth incidence and stabilization of the epidemiological situation in the city of Nur-Sultan,” he said.

According to him, the occupancy of infectious beds is 54%, resuscitation — 45%. At the same time, the head of the department noted that the situation with the spread of infection, according to forecasts, is developing according to an optimistic scenario.

In total, 656,777 cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Kazakhstan since the beginning of the pandemic, 540,850 patients have recovered, 7,103 people have died. The population of the republic is 19 million people.

As of August 11, 5,879,016 people have been vaccinated with the first component of the vaccine in Kazakhstan, of which 4,505,662 have completed the vaccination process.
