Work on the covid-passport in Georgia may be completed in two weeks.

The Georgian authorities plan to complete work on a covid-passport for citizens of the republic in two weeks. Director of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Georgia Amiran Gamkrelidze stated this on Monday at a briefing.

“There is a team at the CDC that, in coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO) and Estonia, is developing such a passport. It should be formed on the principles that have been developed for the covid-passport issued in the European Union. The work is almost complete. <...> I think that the work will be completed in about two weeks,” he said after a meeting of the interdepartmental coordinating council for the fight against coronavirus under the prime minister.

As Deputy Head of the Ministry of Health of Georgia Tamar Gabunia added, work is now underway on the parameters that will be indicated in covid-passports. We are talking about entering the document of each person with a record of passing the full course of vaccination, the history of the disease, and also the results of PCR testing.
