The Vietnamese company announced the successful production of the first batch of the Sputnik V vaccine.


The Vietnamese pharmaceutical company Vabiotech announced the successful production of the first batch of the Sputnik V vaccine at its facilities.

“We are pleased to announce the successful production of the first batch of the Sputnik V vaccine in Vietnam. This batch has been analyzed and evaluated by the Russian side for compliance with the requirements of the standard,” the president of Vabiotech Do Tuan Dat said on Friday.

According to him, according to the approved plan, the Sputnik V vaccine manufactured by Vabiotech will be used in the national immunization program. “This first batch of vaccine will help the Vietnamese people to soon have access to a quality source of vaccine, which will contribute to the effective fight against the COVID-19 epidemic,” said the president of a Vietnamese pharmaceutical company.

In July of this year, Vabiotech released a test batch of Sputnik V ”, which received a positive conclusion for compliance with quality standards following an audit at the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after N. F. Gamaleya. At the moment, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Vabiotech are actively implementing the technology transfer process. As previously reported, the possibility of transferring the production technology of the Russian vaccine to the Vietnamese side for its production in Vietnam in the amount of up to 100 million doses per year is being considered.

Sputnik V received registration from the Ministry of Health of Vietnam on March 23, becoming one of the first foreign vaccines approved for use in the country. As of September 24, the Vietnamese Ministry of Health has licensed a total of eight COVID-19 vaccines. In addition to Sputnik V, the use of American drugs Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, the British-Swedish vaccine AstraZeneca, the Chinese Vero Cell, the Cuban Abdala & nbsp; and the United Arab Emirates-produced Hayat-Vax vaccine.
