The first batch of Chinese coronavirus vaccine has arrived in Iran.


The plane with the first batch of the coronavirus vaccine from the Chinese company Sinopharm (Sinopharm) arrived in Tehran on Sunday. This is reported by the Mehr agency.

The first batch of Chinese vaccine includes 250,000 doses, which were delivered by an Iranian airline Mahan Air (Mahan Air) to the Imam Khomeini airport in the capital.

February 22 Iranian authorities have issued permission for the use of the coronavirus vaccine in the country to the Chinese company Sinopharm (Sinopharm). In addition, on February 17, a similar permit was granted to the vaccines of the British-Swedish company AstraZeneca (AstraZeneca) and the Indian Bharat Biotech (Bharat Biotech).

On February 9, Iran began free voluntary vaccination of the population against coronavirus using Russian drug "Sputnik V". At the first stage, it is planned to vaccinate employees of intensive care units and intensive care units. The next step will be to vaccinate other healthcare workers and the elderly over 65 years of age. The use of the Iranian-made vaccine is scheduled to begin in the country in April.
